Pastor's Corner Words - And Then Some! - October 14, 2005 Read Matthew 21:1-11. Dear friends, |

In Matthew 21:1-11, we have the great entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, riding on a donkey. The crowds shout "Hosanna!" They cry out, "This is Jesus, the King!" God has used donkeys before. Sometimes in the Bible, they are even known to speak up! When Jesus used this donkey, he was making a royal statement. Jesus spoke, but he also acted in ways that said much. Same with you and me. Our mission has to come through in both our speech but also the way we talk. Two quotes on this and I'll leave you with your day ... and your charge: "In the midst of a generation screaming for answers, Christians are stuttering." - Howard Hendricks. "The Word became flesh - and then through theologians it became words again." - Karl Barth. Okay, one last word: If God can even effectively use donkeys, then I somehow know he can use me! And I pray he uses you today - to live out his mission call. God's blessings to you this day! Andy Ross
