What's Your Take on the Bible?! - September 23, 2005

Read Psalm 119.

Dear friends,

It can be downright humorous the way kids can misconstrue what they learn from the Bible:

• Noah's wife was called Joan of Ark.
• Joshua led the Hebrews in the battle of Geritol.
• Jesus was born because Mary had an immaculate contraption.
• The people who followed the Lord were called the 12 decibels.
• A Christian should have only one spouse. This is called monotony.

But when we watch shows like the Tonight Show, with the sketch Jay Walking ... we see that many adults do NOT know basic Bible stories!

Here's a great idea for you today - read one chapter of the Bible a day - and in about three years you will have read the entire Bible, the Word of God!

In Psalm 119, God's Word is described as a lamp for our feet, shining the way forward on our path.
