Pastor's Corner What Do You Mean?! - May 20, 2005 Read Acts 2:1-11. Dear friends, A couple was going out for the evening, so they needed to put the cat out and call for a taxi. The taxi arrived, but as the couple walked out the door, the cat shot back inside. The husband dashed back in while the wife got into the cab. Not wanting the cabbie to think their house would be empty while away, the wife told him "My husband's just going upstairs to say goodbye to my mother." |

A few minutes later, the husband climbed into the cab explaining, "Sorry I took so long. Stupid old thing was hiding under the bed and I had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out!" Miscommunication can be embarrassing. Pentecost is all about God's communication exploding into the world and outward through all nations - of all kinds of people! Read about it in Acts 2:1-11. The marvel and miracle is this: "we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!" Don't miss the point here: God has poured out his Holy Spirit into this world so that we might know there is hope and new life in his Son. God's blessings to you this day! Andy Ross
