Pastor's Corner From Failure to Glory - April 1, 2005 Read John 21:15-19. Dear friends, I love that Dennis the Menace cartoon in which the little guy is kneeling by his bed, in nighttime prayer, wearing his cowboy hat, boots and a six-shooter strapped to his side. The caption of his prayer reads, "I'm here to turn myself in." |

When you look at Simon Peter's life after Easter, it's an amazing story of one of the world's greatest comebacks. Check out John 21:15-19. Jesus asks Peter if he loves him. In spite of all the denials, the weakness, the sins, and the self-protecting, self-seeking self-centeredness, that question rings out again and again. "Do you love me?" And in answering, Peter begins to find a whole new lease on hope. It's called grace. And that grace begins to work, because Easter worked! Jesus is alive to restore us. And we just need to turn ourselves in, and throw ourselves into his arms of love. God's blessings to you this day! Andy Ross
