A message from Pastor Andy Ross...

Pray for Tucson! - February 4, 2005

Dear friends,

Driving home one day with my daughter, she tapped my leg and pointed to the billboard next to the freeway. It read simply, "Pray for Tucson."

Quite an ad! And it made me wonder how our city could be blessed if we really did that - conscientiously and devotedly made a commitment to pray for the city we live in?

After 9/11, our country became changed. After that tragedy, we pulled together. Churches were full. Prayers and love were passionate. Perhaps the best response from that tragedy was spoken by Tom Burnet - a passenger on Flight 93. Minutes before the plane crashed in the fields of Pennsylvania, he reached his wife by cell phone and said, "We're all going to die," he told her, "but there are three of us who are going to do something about it."

Is there something you are going to do today? Does it help our city? Does it contribute to the health and help of our fellow human being?

The sign was right there by the highway. It was clear. It was compelling: "Pray for Tucson!"
