A message from Pastor Andy Ross...

Welcome to Angel Land! - December 10, 2004

Read Matthew 1:18-25.

Dear friends,

The year was 575. A man named Gregory was walking in the market square of Rome one day, and saw an amazing sight: a group of traders had arrived, and they were selling slave boys. But these boys weren't like any children he'd ever seen before - their skin was white, their hair was blonde.

He asked someone where they came from. The reply: "They're Angles! They come from the Isles of Britain!"

Gregory is said to have replied, "No! They're not Angles, they're angels! One day they'll know the message of Christ, and then their land will sing Alleluia to God!"

And that's what happened. Gregory begged leaders from the church to send him as a missionary, God's messenger, to Angle-land.

They didn't listen to him. Instead, they made him pope of the church in Rome. But for the rest of his life, Pope Gregory sent messengers of Christ to England, and sought to turn Angles into Angels.

It started in Matthew 1:18-25. God sent an angel to get the big message across to Joseph. God still wants to get his message through to others today - and that can happen through you and me, sharing and celebrating in Angel land!

God's blessings to you this day!
