A message from Pastor Andy Ross...

God’s 4Runner! - December 3, 2004

Read Luke 1:8-22.

Dear friends,

Just think, Toyota came up with a pretty good name - for God's special agent, John the Baptist! John came preaching in the wilderness to be a forerunner for the Messiah, Jesus.

When I toured the Ford River Rouge plant in Michigan, I was thrilled as a young teen to see the vast casings of molten metal being poured into the molds - glowing, seething, full of energy and power - turning into real cars. "Cool!" I kept saying on the catwalk tour high overhead. My aunt Betsy kept correcting me, "No, HOT! HOT!"

If you think about it, that's a pretty good image of what Christmas is: God pouring the molten power and glory of his inspiring presence into people like John the Baptist, Zechariah, Mary - and YOU! And he does this because of the most perfect mold and casting ever given to us, in his Son, Jesus, the Christ.
