Where Is Your Ambition Aimed?! - November 19, 2004

Read Matthew 20:20-28.

Dear friends,

Good ambition: "Lord, grant that I may always desire more than I can accomplish." - Michelangelo

Bad ambition: "I would step on my mother in order to see the president reelected." - Charles Colson

Good ambition: "I will study and get ready and perhaps my chance will come." - Abraham Lincoln

Bad ambition: "No matter how noble your goals, you can do nothing if you don't get elected. I plan to do anything, and I do mean anything, to be elected." - Anonymous politician

Jesus on ambition: "Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant." - Matthew 20:20-28.

Jesus came and showed us how love is a willingness (an ambition) to serve and sacrifice. Ambition is a good thing, just be careful where you're aiming it!
