Pastor's Corner Who Are You and What Are You Carrying?- October 1, 2004 Read Deuteronomy 26:1-11. Dear friends, In Deuteronomy 26:1-11 there is a beautiful description of how we are supposed to bring our testimony and offering into the temple as an act of worship. It reminds us of some key spiritual responses we are supposed to make. Essentially, we have to answer the questions - who are you and what are you carrying in life? |

Recently, I came back across the border from Mexico into the United States, and was asked similar questions. I was tempted to tell the US Customs officer that I was a citizen of heaven and that I was bringing with me the good news of hope and everlasting joy. But I told him I was from Tucson. And that I had nothing to declare. And that was probably smart. But the real smarts come when you can boldly answer the bigger questions, right? A. W. and J. C. Ware pointed out once: "The question is not whether a doctrine is beautiful, but whether it is true. When we wish to go to a place, we do not ask whether the road leads through a pretty country, but whether it is the right road." So, once again - who are you really? And are you sure you're on the right road today? Take a look at Deuteronomy 26 - you can pick it up from there! God's blessings to you this day! Andy Ross
