Youth Ministries

The youth ministry at Northminster Presbyterian Church is a ministry with a plan and a vision that we believe God has set out for us to follow. It is a vision that is driven by the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit and has as its focus the person of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a great place where teens can get involved, this is it!

Youth Mission Statement

As part of the fellowship of believers at Northminster Presbyterian Church our goal is to: GROW in Christ as we SHARE the good news, CARE for each other, HONOR God, and REACH OUT to others in the power of the
Holy Spirit.

Connections...

We are a youth group that believes in being connected with the larger body of this church. Through fundraising, serving and participating at all church events, being involved in worship and other projects around the church, the youth group is exposed to and takes their place in the larger life of the body here at Northminster Presbyterian Church.

Presence and Knowledge of Jesus Christ...

The primary goal of Northminster Presbyterian Church youth ministries is to make available, in all sorts of different ways, opportunities for youth to come face-to-face with Jesus Christ. We do this through Sunday school classes for grades 6 through 12 on Sunday mornings and with weekly youth groups for Mid-High (Wednesday nights) and Senior High (Sunday nights). These involve a time of recreation, food and fellowship and a time to look into God’s Word as a guide for teenagers facing the pressures of this world.

We are also involved in several retreats throughout the year that facilitate worship and Scripture-based teaching.

Exciting...

Through special events, games, retreats, camps and services, we seek to provide a place for youth to have fun and just be teenagers in a safe and positive environment.

Growing and Caring...

We realize that fun is important but that cannot be all we do. Therefore, we seek to grow as a group both in numbers and in self. We seek to care and pray for each other as we journey together on the path God has set before us.

Spread the Gospel in Word and Deed...

Finally, we believe that the good news of Jesus is not to be kept to ourselves but is to be shared with others. We attempt to do this by providing an atmosphere where youth can invite their friends and see and hear what Christianity is all about. We do this by trying to be involved in mission both in and beyond Tucson. In our short-term missions we have gone to places such as inner city Los Angeles, Mexico and the Roatan Bay Islands. All trips were incredible experiences of growth and witness.

Youth New Members Class

We periodically offer a Youth New Members class, "Extreme Faith," for those in grades 6-12. This is an opportunity for youths to take the next step and become a member of our church. Those completing the one-day course will be commissioned before the church on a subsequent Sunday. Please contact us for further information and to register.
