"Let the children come to me ... for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
- Mark 10:14

Stewardship

One of the most important things we can teach a child is gratitude. It is important that children learn at an early age that God has given them many things in life for which to be grateful. In fact, God has given them an abundance of good things and they have enough to share. This recognition of the abundance of good in one's life helps a child to be positive, upbeat, and have a high self-esteem.

Stewardship activities teach children the difference between needs and wants. Therefore it is important to involve children in a variety of stewardship efforts focusing on giving of their time, talents, and material possessions.

We involve our children in several different stewardship activities throughout the year including food drives, care projects, and collection of offering at children’s programs.

Misgana Bekele Amede

The children’s offering collected at Children’s Church and in Sunday school classes supports a child, through Compassion International, named Misgana Bekele Amede. Misgana is 12 years old and lives in Ethiopia. The dollars we collect help Misgana receive a Christian education and the assistance she needs to live a normal, happy, healthy life. Our children are encouraged to pray for Misgana as well as periodically send correspondence. We receive response letters from Misgana about 4 times a year.
