Dr. Dusty K. Johnson
Director of Music

Since 1977, Dusty has enriched our church life with her excellent leadership in music. Her husband, Roy A. Johnson, joined her in 1981 as organist for our church and together they led a flourishing music program until his tragic death in 1995. Since Roy's death, Dusty has continued as Director, working closely with our organist, Dr. John T. Brobeck (Associate Professor of Musicology at the University of Arizona), since the fall of 1995.

Dusty has been involved in church music virtually all of her life. She majored in Sacred Music at Moody Bible Institute. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in music (vocal performance) from the University of Arizona and was awarded an honorary doctorate in 1987. Dusty has extensive experience in solo and choral sacred music - beginning as a child in the graded choir program in a Chicago Presbyterian Church. Formerly, Dusty was the Director of Music at the Tucson Evangelical Covenant Church for ten years.

Dusty has two children, Eric and Jennifer, and a granddaughter, Sophie.
