
Rev. John C. Cheek
Associate Pastor for Congregational Care
John is a native of southern Arizona, having been reared in the
agricultural community of Elfrida. He has degrees from Cochise
College (Police Science, 1972), the University of Arizona (Public
Administration-Law Enforcement, 1976, and Fuller Theological
Seminary (Master of Divinity, 2004). Northminster has been his
church home since 1976. He has served as both a Deacon and an
Elder at Northminster.
Twenty-three years into his police career, John was called to ministry . He began seminary in 1996 while still a Patrol Officer for the Tucson Police Department. In 1997 John was hired by Northminster in a lay ministry position. He continued in this position until August 21, 2005, when he was ordained as a minister and called as a Designated Associate Pastor. His ministry involves visitation, counseling, and oversight of Northminster's Pastoral Partner ministry.
